With so many companies PVCu boards are simply put over your existing fascia & soffitt timber, also referred to as capping.

This should never be done, as it causes the timbers underneath to sweat, and will eventually rot away.

The worst case scenario, is that the fascia timber is fastened to the roofing rafters and in time will cause dry rot, right through the roof.

With all our roofline replacements, we do exactly what we claim, which is replace and not cap. The existing timbers are removed and replace with Upvc, felt trays are installed along with integarl venting slots giving an airflow in the roof space.
